Pencil and WatercolorGobardhan Ash ( 1907 -1996) studied Fine Arts at the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Kolkata from 1926 to 1930 and worked as a professor there from 1953 to 1955. He won several awards during his long and illustrious career, including the Madras Fine Art Society Award (1935), the Silver Medal of the Delhi Fine Arts Society, the Kolkata Academy of Fine Arts Award, the Silver Medal of the Progressive Writers and Artists Association, Kolkata (1945) and the Abanindranath Award from Government of West Bengal in 1985. The artist passed away in 1996.
